Handscroll: A form of banner in calligraphy and Chinese painting, named for the order in which it can be held in the hand. Also known as a long scroll, the longest is more than 100 meters, such as “a thousand miles of rivers and mountains”. Also known as a horizontal scroll.
The shorter hand rolls are generally 8 or 9 meters long, and can sing more than 20 meters. The height of the hand roll is generally between 30-50 cm.
