Protection and maintenance of pianos
1. Control temperature and humidity
The piano is mainly composed of wood, metal, wool and a small amount of leather, which are sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity in the environment. Too dry storage environment, easy to crack the wooden part of the piano; The humid environment will make the mechanical response of the piano sluggish, and the surface of the strings and other metal parts will produce rust spots. The environmental temperature and humidity requirements of Sidieburg pianos are: humidity 40-60%, temperature 20-25 °C. We recommend that you place a thermohygrometer around the piano to observe the environment in which the piano is used at any time. If it is below the humidity range, you need to buy a suitable humidifier (according to the space you use, you may need several humidifiers, in a room that is too empty or too large) to bring the temperature and humidity to the required standard value. When humidity exceeds the recommended range for several days, you need to consider purchasing dehumidification equipment.
2. Dustproof
After the piano has been left in place for a while, there may be dust accumulation. Accumulated dust is prone to bacteria, mold and pests. We recommend that you spread a soft cloth on the keyboard and cover the piano after playing to help prevent dust and other debris from falling into the keys. Please wipe the piano weekly with a soft, dry cloth. When there is thick dust on the piano, in order to avoid dust particles damaging the paint surface when wiping, you can first wipe off the floating dust with a very dry wet towel, and then wipe it with the polishing liquid distributed with the piano. When using the rubbing liquid, please spray on a clean soft cloth before wiping the piano, and do not spray the rubbing liquid directly on the piano body. In case of daily use, if you need to use the piano cover, please clean the piano cover regularly, as the cover may allow more dust to collect on the piano.
3. Mothproof
Many parts of the Styburg piano are made of natural wool and leather, which require moth-proof maintenance, regular inspection of the piano to prevent insects and mice, and attention to termites. Mothballs can be placed in the piano, and the mothballs can be suspended at both ends of the striking machine bracket, taking care not to affect the movement of the hammer. If you find an insect infestation, do not spray the insecticide directly, please contact the professional piano after-sales technician of the designated dealer in Styburg as soon as possible.

The piano placement environment is often overlooked, in fact, this is also a daily maintenance content of the piano.
1. The environment in which it is placed
The environment in which the piano is placed needs to be relatively constant, and the difference between temperature and humidity should not be too large. The piano should be placed on a level ground with all four wheels fully on the ground. In the case of wooden floors, it is recommended to place caster mats to avoid damage to the floor. Avoid small, vibrating objects on the piano – small objects that fall inside the piano will be difficult to find and may cause vibration and noise when the piano is played. Do not place any liquid on the piano – especially hot water, it is easy to cause damage to the piano paint surface, and accidentally overturning the liquid will cause serious damage to the piano.
2. Where to place
The piano should be avoided in direct sunlight and near the air conditioning outlet. The piano should be kept away from heat sources such as radiators and heaters; The piano should be kept away from the bathroom, kitchen and other places that are prone to moisture, turbid gas.
3. The movement of the piano
The legs of the upright piano are mainly decorative, when moving, do not push and pull the legs of the piano, otherwise it may cause breakage. The function of the piano caster is to play the role of stable placement of the piano, not a tool when moving, and because the piano’s own weight is too large, the local pressure of the load on the castor of the piano is very large, and unreasonable movement may leave trails on the floor. When moving the piano, it is recommended to ask a professional to assist in the operation.
Maintenance of the piano
1. Piano maintenance and inspection
Every part of the Schideborg piano is precisely blended and cannot be disassembled or interchanged. Be sure to seek the help of your Styburg dealer for maintenance, as a piano technician who has been trained in Styburg and is familiar with the performance characteristics of Styburg pianos. It is strictly forbidden to disassemble piano parts without permission.
2. First tuning
The main material of the piano is wood, which is easily affected by temperature and humidity changes, and after the piano arrives at your home, it takes a period of time to adapt to the new temperature and humidity environment, and then tune. Therefore, we recommend that you do your first tuning within 1 week to 6 months after the piano arrives home. The dealer of the Styburg piano will provide you with the first tuning service of the piano free of charge, please contact our dealer and make an appointment for the first tuning service.
3. Tuning maintenance
When tuning piano technicians, please cooperate with maintaining a quiet working environment to avoid affecting the tuning effect. In order to achieve the best performance and service life of the Schidiborg piano, the piano needs regular maintenance, please ensure that the piano tuning maintenance is not less than 2 times a year, and at the same time carry out internal mechanical inspection. If it is not adjusted for too long, it may cause excessive reduction in rhythm, affecting the structure of the piano, and if it is to recover, it may take multiple tunings in a short period of time to restore the previous state.
